Breakfast is an elaborate affair that can last for hours and can be enjoyed either in the Manor House dining room, under the lush Wisteria-covered pergola, or at the pool house.
For lunch and dinner, choose from our specially curated meals served family style. Some of the best beef in South Africa is produced just a stone’s throw away from the Manor House on the Sparta beef farm, which belongs to the Van Reenen family, and the countryside is dotted with farmers who produce much of South Africa’s corn, vegetables and fruit.
From award-winning steaks cooked on the braai (barbecued) the traditional South African way, to hearty winter stews and curries, venison from our own herds or light summer meals, we have a culinary treat for everyone.

As wine lovers the Van Reenen family has searched far and wide to bring you the best South African wines. Smaller, boutique vineyards are well represented on our wine list as well as many firm South African favourites. A special treat is our selection of Sieraad red wine from the world-renowned Stellenbosch wine region in the Western Cape. Special events
Celebrate your special event at Rietfontein’s function venue, Bo die Wolke, which can be styled for big groups of up to 80 guests or more intimate groups of 20-40 guests. In addition to catering, we can also provide tables, chairs, cutlery and crockery. There are a number of menu items to choose from for your event, but for any special decor or catering requests we suggest that you rope in your own chef and event planner. Our wedding chapel and conference venue will be open for bookings from 2024.
